The Primate of the UOC said that he prays for the Lord to grant peace to Ukraine.

On February 24, 2025, marking the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine led a divine service at the St. Panteleimon Women’s Monastery in Feofania, according to the UOC's press service.

The Primate prayed for the repose of the warriors who gave their lives defending Ukraine, as well as for all those who have innocently perished during the war.

After the prayer, His Beatitude stated: “Three years have passed since the sorrowful event – the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Today, we prayed for the repose of all Orthodox leaders and warriors who gave their lives on the battlefield for our future, for the life we have today, and for all Orthodox Christians killed during these days in our country.”

He wished that the Lord would grant good health, His blessing, and protection to the defenders in their service.

“We pray for the Lord to send us peace – the peace that every human soul desires to have and feel – in their heart, in their family, and in our country,” Metropolitan Onuphry emphasized.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Onuphry delivered an address on the anniversary of Russia's invasion.
