339 UOC сhurches destroyed by war – more than half of all affected shrines
The number of UOC churches destroyed during the war continues to rise in Ukraine.
According to the Religion on Fire project, as of February 25, 2025, a total of 642 religious buildings have been damaged or destroyed due to Russian aggression. More than half of these belong to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as reported on the project's Facebook page.
Religion on Fire tracks damage to religious sites across Ukraine. The updated infographic indicates that 339 UOC churches have been affected by military actions.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that one of the oldest UOC churches was destroyed by shelling in the village of Andriivka, located in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region.
