Erdogan compares Sofia’s conversion into mosque with fall of Constantinople
The Turkish president has promised that he will apply the laws of Islam in the country.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan compared the conversion of the Hagia Sophia into a mosque with the fall of Constantinople, reports Vima Orthodoxias.
According to the head of Turkey, the conversion of the Hagia Sophia into a mosque is "just as important" as the fall of Constantinople.
Speaking about the development of the Turkish economy, Erdogan noted that he would "lead his people to what they deserve" and stressed that he would "apply the laws of Islam".
According to Erdogan, the Hagia Sophia converted into a mosque returned to its original identity.
