Trump calls for permanent ban on gender transition for minors
The U.S. President stated that children are "beautiful and perfect just as God created them."
On March 4, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a speech at a joint session of Congress in the U.S. Capitol, in which he called for criminalizing gender transition surgeries for minors. The White House YouTube channel published the speech.
"And now I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the body. This is wrong, a big lie. And our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you," Trump stated in his address to Congress.
Earlier, it was reported that Trump had previously banned gender transition surgeries for minors.
