The U.S. State Department has condemned the actions of radical Islamist terrorists attacking civilians in western Syria.

On March 9, 2025, the U.S. State Department announced that Washington condemns the crimes committed by Islamists in Syria, who in recent days have been killing Christians, Alawites, and members of other minorities.

"The United States condemns the radical Islamist terrorists, including foreign jihadis, that murdered people in western Syria in recent days," the statement from the department reads.

It emphasized that "the United States stands with Syria’s religious and ethnic minorities, including its Christian, Druze, Alawite, and Kurdish communities, and offers its condolences to the victims and their families."

"Syria’s interim authorities must hold the perpetrators of these massacres against Syria’s minority communities accountable," the State Department stated.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Islamists in Syria had killed a large number of civilians.
