UOC сhapel near Vuhledar damaged by Russian shelling
Shells damaged the roof and walls of the temple, a shard knocked out the door, and the interior decoration of the sanctuary was significantly damaged.
On April 7, 2025, as a result of shelling by the Russian army, the chapel of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, located in the cemetery of the village of Stepne near Vuhledar, was damaged. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Pokrovsk Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
According to a photo released by the vicariate’s press service, the shelling damaged the roof and walls of the chapel. A fragment blew out the door, and the interior of the sacred site suffered significant damage. Craters from the explosions are visible nearby.
There have been no reports of casualties.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that on the Feast of the Annunciation, a UOC hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy in frontline Kostiantynivka.
