Tulchyn bishop's brother killed in Russian missile strike on Sumy
The clergy and faithful are offering their condolences to Archbishop Sergiy.
On April 13, 2025, a Russian ballistic missile strike on the city center of Sumy claimed the life of the brother of Bishop Sergiy, the ruling hierarch of the Tulchyn and Bratslav Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, according to the eparchy’s press service.
According to information from Orthodox community groups, the deceased was named Vitaliy Anitsoy.
The clergy and faithful of the Tulchyn Eparchy have expressed their condolences to their bishop.
Earlier, UOJ reported that Metropolitan Yevlogiy of Sumy condemned the missile strike on the city.
