UOC сhurch in Zolotyi Kolodiaz village destroyed by Russian shelling
Only ruins remain of the church.
On July 7, 2025, the feast of the Nativity of John the Forerunner, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s church in the village of Zolotyi Kolodiaz, part of the Dobropillia deanery in Donbas, was destroyed by Russian shelling. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Pokrovsk Vicariate.
The church dedicated to St. Dimitry, Metropolitan of Rostov, Wonderworker, was almost completely demolished.
Photos and videos published show that only ruins remain of the church, with just some walls and the bell tower left standing.
As reported by the UOJ, the Church of Archangel Michael in Pokrovsk was also damaged by shelling.
