Military enlistment office detains a UOC protodeacon in Kyiv
Fr. Andrii Kiziun was reportedly declared fit for service and taken to a military unit.
On October 16, 2025, officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) detained Protodeacon Andrii Kiziun of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kyiv, reports mobilized priest Fr. Ioann Polishchuk on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the clergyman “was rushed through the medical commission under guard, in the best traditions of forced conscription, and has already been taken to a military unit.”
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to UOC Chancellor Metropolitan Anthony, the mobilization of UOC clergy constitutes a deliberate desecration of the priestly rank by the authorities.
