Bans come from "Mokshans": OCU cleric urges drinking milk during Nativity Fast
OCU cleric Filiuk claimed that the Nativity Fast’s dietary restrictions are merely a diet invented by Russians.
OCU “priest” and popular blogger Oleksii Filiuk stated that the traditional rules of the Nativity Fast are a fabrication of Russians, whom he refers to as “Mokshans.”
According to him, in comments under his previous videos, “overly knowledgeable” viewers insisted that milk is forbidden during the fast. Filiuk dismissed this, claiming that “fasting is not a diet.”
“Store-bought milk is basically water. Drink it, cook dairy dishes – there’s no sin in that. People invented these diets themselves, all of this comes from the mokshans,” Filiuk assured.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to OCU theologian Dudchenko, during Great Lent – except for the first and Holy Weeks – eating fish is permissible.
