The Primate of the Bulgarian Church celebrated a festive liturgy in honor of Saint Daniel the Stylite.

Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria led the Divine Liturgy at St. Alexander Nevsky's Cathedral in Sofia on the occasion of the feast day of his heavenly patron, Saint Daniel the Stylite. This was reported by the Orthodoxia News Agency.

The festive service was attended by the Metropolitans of America, Canada, and Australia, and hierarchs of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

The service was attended by the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, government representatives, clergy, and numerous believers.

On behalf of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Joseph congratulated the Primate on the feast day of his patron and emphasized the prayerful unity of all the spiritual children of the BOC in different countries.

President Radev noted in his address that Patriarch Daniel's spiritual service inspires believers with an example of faithfulness to God.

On behalf of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Director of the Main Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Council of Ministers, Nikola Petkov, read a congratulatory message, which states: "The festive occasion allows us to highlight the importance of your institutional role and the consistent efforts you make to strengthen the prestige of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the public life of the country.."
