Speaking at the conference in Athens, Archbishop Ieronymos emphasized that peace and stability in Europe are impossible without Christian spiritual guidelines.

On December 11, 2025, the conference "The Role of Christianity in a Changing Europe" was held in Athens. The keynote speech at the forum was delivered by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, reports the Orthodoxia News Agency.

Speaking at the conference, the Primate of the Church of Greece noted that modern Europe is experiencing a period of profound and rapid changes and needs stable spiritual guidelines. "Europe is seeking stable points of reference amidst conditions of rapid change," emphasized the Archbishop.

According to him, Christianity does not offer ready-made political solutions but provides fundamental values without which peaceful coexistence is impossible. "Peace is not simply the result of a balance of power; it is the fruit of cultivating consciences. It requires education, dialogue, spirituality and a firm commitment to the inviolability of every human person," stated Archbishop Ieronymos.

Concluding his greeting, His Beatitude emphasized: "In a Europe that is often drawn into a secularized and purely cosmocentric reading of reality, the Orthodox Church reminds us with discretion, but also with firmness, that the measure of man and society is not found in the self-sufficiency of power nor in the autonomy of aspirations, but in the person of Christ, in whom the truth of man and the fullness of life are revealed."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Archbishop Ieronymos of Greece called on Trump to protect the monastery on Sinai.
