Amid disruptions to electricity, water, and heating, the Odesa monastery opened its grounds to support city residents.

On December 14, 2025, in Odesa, the brotherhood of the Holy Dormition Monastery organized assistance for city residents who were left without electricity, water, and heating during the blackout. This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Eparchy.

For several days, Odesa Region has been subjected to air attacks, as a result of which residents of the city have faced interruptions in electricity supply, heating, and water services.

In the circumstances that arose, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, the brotherhood of the Dormition Monastery began providing assistance. Points were set up on the monastery grounds where residents could collect drinking water.

Despite the fact that the monastery itself was also without power and operating on generators, on December 14, during services, city residents were given the opportunity to charge mobile phones and other devices. In addition, with the participation of the faithful, the distribution of hot tea was organized.

The monastery called on Odesa residents to remain calm. “It is difficult, but we will endure. The Lord is with us, and the Lord will surely help us through this trial,” representatives of the brotherhood said.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a priest administered Holy Communion to residents of the Liubomyrivka neuropsychiatric care facility.
