Families of fallen soldiers receive support from Mukachevo Eparchy
On the eve of the feast of St. Nicholas, a charitable initiative was held in Transcarpathia to support families left without a breadwinner and elderly people living alone.
On December 17, 2025, the parish of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Svaliava organized a charitable initiative in support of the families of fallen soldiers and elderly people living alone. This was reported by the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy of the UOC.
The rector of the church, Archpriest Vasyl Barna, together with parishioners and the church cleric Heorhii Barna, congratulated the beneficiaries on the upcoming feasts and encouraged them not to lose hope in God’s mercy. The faithful delivered more than one hundred food packages directly to people’s homes. The organizers note that such charitable initiatives have been carried out for many years in a row.
