Andrii Bokoch is calling for an inspection of the affiliation of all churches and chapels in Volyn located on the premises of state and medical institutions.

At a session of the Volyn Regional Council on December 17, deputy Andrii Bokoch submitted a formal inquiry to the head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Ivan Rudnytskyi, regarding the presence of religious facilities in state and municipal institutions of the region, according to local media reports.

The issue concerns churches and chapels operating in medical institutions, coal-mining enterprises, schools, rehabilitation centers, social institutions, military units, and other facilities.

According to the deputy, he is concerned that among such religious facilities there may be churches of the Moscow Patriarchate, which he claims is under Russian control.

“I assume that among these religious structures there may be those belonging to a hostile patriarchate supervised from Moscow,” Bokoch stated.

The deputy emphasized that such religious sites could allegedly be used for pro-Russian propaganda. The purpose of the inquiry, he said, is to obtain precise information about the existence of such facilities and to verify whether they form part of a subversive network.

Andrii Bokoch’s inquiry received support from fellow deputies of the Regional Council. Ivan Rudnytskyi is now required to provide an official response regarding the possible presence of UOC MP religious facilities within state and municipal institutions of Volyn Region.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Volodymyr, a member of parliament had announced the expulsion of a UOC cathedral community from its chapel.
