Sumy Eparchy donates over one million hryvnias for children with cancer

The press service of the Sumy Eparchy has reported on the results of the fourteenth charitable campaign “Bright Deeds for the Bright Feast.”

In 2025, the UOC Sumy Eparchy donated more than 1 million 220 thousand hryvnias to the Sumy Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital for the purchase of medical equipment and medicines needed to treat children with cancer. This was reported by the press service of the Sumy Eparchy of the UOC.

The charitable campaign was held from March 2 to April 22, 2025, in churches of the city of Sumy and parishes of the eparchy. During this period, special prayer petitions were offered at services for children suffering from cancer, and funds were collected.

The campaign “Bright Deeds for the Bright Feast” has been conducted by the Sumy Eparchy since 2011. Over this time, more than 10 million 800 thousand hryvnias have been raised for the treatment of children with cancer.

The Sumy Eparchy expressed gratitude to all participants in the campaign and offers prayers for the recovery of the young patients.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Sumy, a hierarch and a cleric of the UOC were awarded medals “For Dignity and Patriotism.”
