Metropolitan of Cherkasy discharged from hospital after poisoning
After inpatient treatment, His Eminence Theodosiy has visibly lost weight.
Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy has been discharged from hospital and transferred to outpatient home treatment, which he will undergo under the supervision of his attending physician. This was reported on December 24, 2025, by the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
The health condition of Metropolitan Theodosiy does not yet allow him to return to full pastoral ministry. The published photograph shows that after hospital treatment the hierarch has lost a significant amount of weight.
Metropolitan Theodosiy expressed his gratitude to all who were concerned for him during these days, prayed, and offered support: “My dear and beloved brothers and sisters! Your prayerful support is a great value and a strength that the Lord revealed to me during these days. May the Lord repay each of you a hundredfold for your love and care, for your prayers and all your support!” the hierarch asked to convey.
Recall that on November 28 the eparchy’s press service announced that the hierarch had been hospitalized in critical condition. According to sources of UOJ, Metropolitan Theodosiy was poisoned. His condition was stabilized only two weeks later.
