Hungarian authorities to fund restoration of Serbian Church monastery
The Government of Hungary has allocated funds for the reconstruction of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos Monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The Government of Hungary allocated more than 250,000 euros for the restoration of the Dormition Monastery of the Eparchy of Buda (Budimska eparhija) of the Serbian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the press service of the Serbian Church.
On December 22, 2025, in the Hungarian city of Ráckeve (historically known as Srpski Kovin), an event dedicated to the restoration of the Dormition Monastery took place. The State Secretary for Church and National Minority Relations declared that the Government of Hungary intends to continue supporting Serbian Orthodox parishes.
Metropolitan Lukijan of Buda thanked the Hungarian authorities for their attention to the ancient monastery and assistance in its restoration.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Patriarch Porfirije supported Serbian students and schoolchildren in Croatia.
