Terrorist attack occurs at mosque in Syrian city of Homs
Members of the terrorist group “Saraya Ansar al-Sunna” carried out an attack at a mosque in a Syrian city.
On December 26, 2025, a terrorist attack took place at the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in the Syrian city of Homs, the Associated Press reports.
The mosque is located in a neighborhood where the Alawite minority lives. As a result of the attack, eight people were killed and 18 were injured. Security services said the explosion was caused by the detonation of several explosive devices.
Representatives of the terrorist group “Saraya Ansar al-Sunna” claimed responsibility for the attack and said it was directed against Alawites, whom radical Islamists consider apostates. The group has also claimed responsibility for an attack on the Church of the Prophet Elijah in Damascus in June 2025, in which 22 people were killed and dozens were wounded.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Sydney, during Hanukkah celebrations, two terrorists killed 12 people.
