The President of Moldova attended the Synod meeting chaired by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chișinău.

On December 30, 2025, in Chisinau, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, attended a meeting of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Moldova under the leadership of Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova. This was reported by the press service of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.

"During the discussions, one of the central topics was the need for a correct and constructive approach to cooperation between the Orthodox Church of Moldova and state institutions, aimed at serving the common good and strengthening moral and spiritual values in society," noted in the communication service's message.

Details of Sandu's communication with the hierarchs are not disclosed. It is stated that the President thanked Metropolitan Vladimir and the hierarchs for protecting Christian values in the country.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a Moldovan hierarch criticized Sandu for pressure on the Church.
