Christians in India were subjected to attacks and acts during the Christmas holidays. According to christiantoday, human rights activists recorded more than 80 incidents against Christian communities associated with extremist Hindu groups.

With International Christian Concern (ICC) reporting, during the Christmas celebration period, more than 80 incidents directed against Christians were recorded across India. Among them are attacks on worship services, public threats, insults, and the destruction of Christian properties. The most severe situation was observed in the states of Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. In the city of Raipur, a group of about 90 people destroyed Christmas decorations in a shopping mall.

Human rights activists link most of the attacks to radical Hindu movements, including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bajrang Dal, a militant wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). These structures are often accused of inciting violence against Christians.

ICC reps noted that in some cases, local authorities did not intervene in the events or justified the actions of the attackers.

As reported by the UOJ, India records a 500% increase in attacks on Christians.
