Ombudsman reports how many Ukrainians have gone abroad since war began
According to Lubenets, 11 million people have left Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, in an interview with Dmytro Gordon, stated the number of Ukrainians who have left the country since the Russian invasion in 2022. According to him, it is 11 million citizens. At the same time, according to him, the official statistics of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are somewhat lower.
"Please note: 11 million citizens of Ukraine have gone abroad. Eleven! Today I received an official response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — it lists 8.5 million citizens. But we understand that some do not register with consulates, so the Ukrainian authorities do not see them," Lubinets reported.
It should be noted that, according to statements by the Cabinet of Ministers, as of December 1, 2019, 37 million 289 thousand people lived in Ukraine.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Ukraine has the highest mortality rate and the lowest birth rate on the planet.
