Persecuted UOC parish in Volodymyr celebrates Christmas in temporary church
Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr-Volynskyi led the festive liturgy.
On January 7, 2026, on the Feast of the Nativity of Christ, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Kovel celebrated the festive Divine Liturgy in the temporary church of Volodymyr, as reported by the eparchy's press service.
The hierarch was concelebrated by the clergy of the church.
After reading the Gospel, Archimandrite Seraphim (Mozheliuk) announced the Christmas message of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
During the service, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, the soldiers, and all those deprived and affected by the war.
After the Communion hymn, Archpriest Mykhailo Shykuta read out the Nativity message by Metropolitan Volodymyr.
After the dismissal, the hierarch congratulated the clergy and the faithful on the Feast of the Nativity of Christ.
As the UOJ reported, in Volodymyr, the persecuted community of the UOC cathedral holds worship in new premises.
