Boxer Oleksandr Usyk urged those who celebrate Christmas on December 25 to treat with respect those who celebrate on January 7.

On January 7, 2026, boxer Oleksandr Usyk posted two video greetings for the Nativity of Christ. In the first, standing in front of an Orthodox church, he said: “Christ is born! Glorify Him! Happy feast, dear friends. Spiritual strength to everyone, love and happiness.”

After receiving hate in the comments from supporters of a “state” Christmas, Usyk recorded a second video from his car in which he urged Ukrainians to respect one another.

“Dear friends, I understand that some people don’t celebrate today, but everyone has their own view and self-awareness. I know that in the comments you will write that in Ukraine Christmas is not celebrated today, but some Ukrainians do celebrate today, dear friends,” the boxer said.

He urged people “to respect one another and to treat one another with love.” “We are all different – we have different characters, different parents. We were born in different cities, but we all live in Ukraine, and we are Ukrainians,” Oleksandr Usyk said.

The boxer wished everyone happiness, joy, and love, and advised people to go in for sports.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Usyk voiced support for SBU chief Maliuk.
