His Beatitude leads divine service at Lavra on Circumcision of the Lord feast
During the festive service at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, special prayers were offered for peace on the Ukrainian land and for God’s blessing upon the new year.
On the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and the commemoration day of Saint Basil the Great, His Beatitude Onufriy, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, according to a report on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The festive divine service took place in the church dedicated to Agapitus of the Caves, located on the grounds of the monastery.
Concelebrating with the Primate were the Chancellor of the UOC, Anthony, Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary; Lavr, Archbishop of Irpin; Mark; as well as the clergy of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and visiting clergy in sacred orders.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy addressed the faithful with an archpastoral homily. During the divine service, special prayers were offered for peace on the Ukrainian land.
Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led a prayer service marking the beginning of the new year.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that His Beatitude presided over the Divine Liturgy in Feofania on the commemoration day of Venerable Bonifatius.
