Germany sends €63 million to international abortion organizations – media
Despite official statements, German authorities allocated tens of millions of euros in 2022–2025 to organizations promoting abortion abroad.
In January 2026, it became known that the German federal government, despite public statements that it does not recognize a “right to abortion” abroad, continues to channel millions of euros to international organizations advancing an abortion agenda. European Conservative reported this.
According to the German government’s reply to a parliamentary inquiry by Alternative for Germany MP Beatrix von Storch, the International Planned Parenthood Federation alone received €63 million from the German budget in the period from 2022 to 2025. The funds were transferred as annual core contributions and were not tied to specific projects.
The authorities also acknowledged that since 2022 part of this funding has been directed to China, and that Germany-funded programs operate in Yemen, Nigeria, India, and a number of African countries. At the same time, the government confirmed that it does not carry out systematic checks of the political and human-rights activities of organizations receiving German money.
Von Storch accused the cabinet of a lack of transparency and said that the current government is effectively defending the very policy it previously criticized. In her words, this amounts to the deliberate financing of ideologically driven structures at the expense of German taxpayers.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UN is discussing adding abortion and gender ideology to “children’s rights.”
