The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church called on the faithful to bring the blessing of Baptism to their families.

On January 19, 2026, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije presided over the festal Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Epiphany at the Church of St. Sava in Belgrade. This was reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists in Serbia.

After the service, the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) addressed the faithful with a homily. Then, together with the clergy, the Patriarch served the rite of the Great Blessing of Water. He sprinkled the worshippers with holy water and expressed the wish that the blessing of the Jordan would abide in every Serbian home. All those present were able to draw the blessed water and take it with them.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, in Patriarch Porfirije’s words, peace is God’s commandment and the only way to overcome wars.
