An OCU cleric who uses funeral services for provocations announced that the Komariv community would “transfer” to the OCU.

Roman Hryshchuk, an OCU cleric known for organizing numerous staged “meetings” on transfers and for church seizures targeting the UOC, has announced the “transfer” of the Dormition church in Komariv – the same church where, on 13 January, he caused a scandal during the funeral service for the fallen soldier Vitaliy Melnyk.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Hryshchuk claimed that UOC priests are “vatnyky” who send money to the Russian army, and that this is why religious communities allegedly seek to move to the OCU.

The OCU cleric also attempted to refute the points made in a UOJ article about the “technology” of provocations at funeral services, which he uses to stage fraudulent “transfers” to the OCU.

“Why did they start squealing about Komariv and about how, for several days, there has been a ‘recipe’ for taking the church away, and so on? Because they know that the community, having seen all these things, has already drawn its conclusions and is preparing to leave the Moscow Patriarchate,” Hryshchuk said, announcing yet another unlawful meeting. He insisted that neither he nor other OCU clerics would be busing people in to vote.

“And so they will vote to leave the Moscow Patriarchate. When it happens – well, you will be informed,” Hryshchuk said.

In another post, he complained to UOJ that the article had used an unflattering photo of him in which he was “a little unshaven.”

Earlier, Hryshchuk falsely claimed that UOC priests had refused to conduct a funeral service for a fallen serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
