UOC community in Komariv asks for help due to seizure threat
A priest and the Dormition community of the UOC in the village of Komariv seek protection after a provocation by the OCU at the funeral service of an AFU soldier.
On January 25, 2026, the priest and parishioners of the Dormition Church of the UOC in the Bukovinyan village of Komariv appealed to the public for help in connection with the media campaign launched against them after the funeral service for a Ukrainian serviceman.
As priest Father Clement reported in a video address, the relatives of the fallen warrior asked to serve a memorial service in the UOC church, and the community gave its consent. However, after this, an information attack began against the parish.
"These people use this to incite interfaith hatred, to blacken our Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They say that Ukrainian warriors are not heroes for us," the clergyman stated.
He emphasized that the community has always prayed for Ukrainian defenders, and many parishioners have relatives at the front. The rector himself mentioned two of his parishioners: one went missing near Myrnohrad, the second received a severe wound.
"Our heroes are Ukrainian warriors! We are not for the aggressor, we are Ukrainians, we are for Ukraine, we are for its future," Father Clement emphasized.
According to him, using manipulations, certain forces are trying to sow enmity in the village and seize the church that the parishioners themselves built.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Hryshchuk, who caused a scandal at the funeral service in Komariv, threatened a "transfer".
