In Kyiv, TRC abducts cleric of St. Cyril Monastery
TRC officers detained Archpriest Oleksandr Itsenko.
On January 28, 2026, drafters detained Archpriest Oleksandr Itsenko in Kyiv, who serves at the St. Cyril Monastery.
According to the UOJ sources, Fr. Oleksandr was not listed as wanted and had his priest’s documents with him. However, the TRC officers stated that “the data just need to be updated” and took him to the nearest center. It is reported that Fr. Oleksandr was stopped on his way to the all-night vigil, placed in a minibus, and sent in an unknown direction.
The monastery’s parishioners ask believers for prayers and help spread information about the abduction, since the clergyman cannot bear arms.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Dnipro, the TRC detained a UOC priest to send him to front.
