Dumenko awards an order to SBU Academy rector
The head of the OCU discussed church–state relations with SBU representative Cherniak.
On January 29, 2026, Serhii Dumenko met at his residence with Colonel Andrii Cherniak, rector of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine. The OCU press service reported this.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the spiritual and patriotic education of young people, as well as church–state relations.
Following the meeting, Serhii Petrovych presented Andrii Cherniak with the Order of the Archangel Michael, 1st Class.
As the UOJ previously reported, Epifaniy Dumenko has presented orders to government officials involved in transferring churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) to the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). Awarding state representatives who have distinguished themselves in matters of the “Ukrainianization” of the religious sphere has become a regular practice of the OCU leadership.
