Americans support congresswoman in her position on defending UOC
X users in the comments to Anna Luna's post demand that Ukrainian authorities stop seizing churches, and that the international community provide a legal assessment of these actions.
The publication by USA Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna about the ongoing seizure of the Nativity of Christ Church in the village of Kuzmyn has generated widespread response among American users of the X network. Commentators generally supported the politician's stance, emphasizing that this is not about one specific parish, but about the fundamental issue of the rule of law and protection of religious freedom.
The comment that received the most support directly linked the situation around the UOC with the influence of Ukrainian oligarchs and the inaction of authorities. "This isn't just about one church – it's about whether the rule of law actually applies to everyone, or if oligarchs can still throw their weight around to take what they want," wrote one discussion participant, calling for concrete actions rather than formal negotiations and immediate legal protection for the parish.
Other comments contained accusations against Ukrainian authorities and calls for the USA to reconsider its position. "That's enough, we're tired of seeing Orthodox clergy die so Ukrainian oligarchs can line their pockets. The US should stop funding the persecution of Christians," wrote user CleavetoAntiquity. Some discussion participants emphasized that such actions undermine the declared European values that Kyiv refers to.
Some responses were emotional and religious in nature. Thus, one user addressed the congresswoman directly: "Dear Luna, if we don't understand what force we're dealing with, we won't succeed! This is a demonic force, that's why it destroys churches, because it fears priests..." Along with this, many simply thanked Anna Paulina Luna for her consistent position and attention to the problem: "Thank you for constantly drawing attention to this injustice!" and "You're always on the right track."

We need straight answers from Deputy PM Stefanishyna: Did local authorities turn a blind eye? Are…
As the UOJ wrote, Anna Paulina Luna previously received a video appeal from Orthodox Christians of the village of Kuzmyn, who turned to her with a request for protection in connection with pressure on the religious community. In response, she noted that she took control of the possible seizure attempt in Kuzmyn. Later, Luna emphasized that despite her previous warnings, the process of seizing the church continues and stated that she expects explanations from Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA Olha Stefanishyna.
