The Rivne Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held the 16th “Bible Experts” Olympiad for Sunday school students.

On January 31, 2026, the Rivne Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church organized the 16th “Bible Experts” Olympiad for Sunday school pupils at the St. George metochion in Rivne, the eparchy’s press service reports.

Forty children – winners of regional qualifying rounds from various parishes across the region – took part in the event. The Olympiad began with a prayer and a blessing led by Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh.

Participants were divided into age categories, and each group received tasks designed to test their knowledge of Holy Scripture. After the written portion, the children gathered for a shared meal prepared by the sisters of the St. George metochion.

The head of the Department of Religious Education, Catechesis, and Sunday Schools, Archpriest Ioann Diachuk, addressed the pupils with parting words and wished them continued spiritual growth. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates and gifts from Metropolitan Pimen. The winners, after the works are reviewed, will be formally awarded on March 1, on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy.

As the UOJ reported, the choir of the sisters of the St. George metochion in Rivne performed at a festival in Warsaw.
