In the Volyn region, after a UOC priest was detained by TRC officers, the religious community was left without the priest's spiritual care.

On February 3, 2026, in the village of Horodylets, Volyn region, unknown persons without presenting documents detained the rector of the UOC temple "Life-Giving Spring" Archpriest Ioann Chyryk, as reported on the Volodymyr-Volynsky Eparchy's Facebook page.

According to available information, the priest was seized near the entrance of the building where he rented an apartment with his family and taken away in an unknown direction. Witnesses claim that the detention occurred without explanation of reasons and presenting any official documents.

On February 4, a photo of Archpriest Ioann already in military uniform appeared in online communities, which, according to parishioners, indicates his forced mobilization.

As a result of what happened, the religious community in the village of Horodylets was left without a priest and without the possibility of conducting Divine services and Sacraments. Parishioners ask to offer prayers for Archpriest Ioann Chyriyk, as well as for the religious community left without their clergyman.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Kyiv the TRC abducted a cleric of St. Cyril's Monastery.
