New Three-Saint Church consecrated in Romny
In Romny, Metropolitan Tikhon of Romny and Buryn performed the rite of consecration for a new Three-Saint Church.
On February 8, 2026, on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, a new Three-Saint Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was consecrated in the city of Romny. The rite was performed by Metropolitan Tikhon of Romny and Buryn, according to the Romny Eparchy’s press service.
The consecration service was held near the bell tower of the Ascension Church. Afterward, the archpastor presided over the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were the eparchy secretary, Archpriest Volodymyr Kostenko, the rector of the parish, Archpriest Ioann Kavchak, and clergy of the Romny Eparchy.
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and for her defenders. At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Tikhon addressed the faithful with a sermon and congratulated the rector and parishioners on the consecration of the new church.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a new UOC church in honor of Basil the Great was consecrated in Krasnoilsk, Bukovyna.
