The head of the UGCC during his visit to Curitiba called on the Ukrainian diaspora to convince Brazilians of the inevitability of victory and stated that those who doubt should "convert".

On February 15, the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk during a service at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Curitiba (Brazil) delivered a sermon, a significant part of which was devoted to the theme of war and Ukraine's future victory. This is reported on the ugcc.ua website.

Addressing the Ukrainian community, Shevchuk said that Ukraine, according to him, "is alive, stands, fights and prays." "Every time propaganda says that we no longer exist, that hope is lost – this is not true!" he declared, assuring listeners of the country's "strength and steadfastness."

At the same time, according to him, "they want to kill us, they want to arrange a new genocide in Ukraine with the help of an abnormally cold winter," however "the Ukrainian people resist."

Separately, Shevchuk addressed the diaspora with a call to actively influence public opinion in Brazil: "You must convince Brazilian society that Ukraine will win."

The head of the UGCC also gave "spiritual" advice to those who doubt: "Whoever does not believe that we are capable of this, let them convert. Whoever does not believe that we will resist and win, let them repent."

As the UOJ wrote, earlier Shevchuk boasted about Kyiv residents who, having no heating, dance in the street.
