TRC abducts UOC archpriest from St. Michael’s Church in Horodyshche

In Horodyshche, Cherkasy Region, staff of the Territorial Center of Recruitment mobilized the rector of a UOC parish and sent him to one of the combat brigades.

In the city of Horodyshche in Cherkasy Region, personnel of the Territorial Center of Recruitment (TRC) detained and forcibly mobilized the rector of the UOC's St. Michael’s Church, Archpriest Anatoliy Chernenko. This was reported by Pershyi Kozatskyi.

According to the source, after detaining the clergyman, he was taken to the TRC and then sent for further service to one of the combat brigades. Parishioners of the church are asking the faithful to double their prayers for their pastor.

It is also reported that St. Michael’s Church, headed by Fr. Anatoliy, had previously found itself at the center of a property dispute. According to sources, the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office is challenging the religious community’s ownership of the building, which was restored through the efforts of parishioners.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Nikopol, the TRC abducted the rector of Holy Trinity Church right from inside the church.
