Icon with particle of Gabriel Urgebadze's relics to be brought to Uzhhorod from Georgia
The holy icon, painted in Georgia, will be brought to the Holy Trinity Church of the Mukachevo Eparchy of the UOC.
On March 1, 2026, the Mukachevo Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will receive the icon of Saint Gabriel Urgebadze with a particle of his holy relics, reports the eparchy's press service.
The icon was painted in Georgia — the homeland of the saint, known for his ascetic life and spiritual wisdom.
The holy relic will be brought to Ukraine with the blessing of Metropolitan Feodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. It will permanently reside in the Holy Trinity Church in the Bozdosh neighborhood of Uzhhorod.
The solemn reception of the icon is scheduled for 8:30 AM on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, after which a festive Divine Liturgy will be held in the church, led by Bishop Feodor.
The eparchy invites the faithful to venerate the holy relic and pray together.
As the UOJ reported, the relics of Saints Cyprian and Justina arrived in Mukachevo.
