His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew received birthday congratulations from Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha. This was reported on Sybiha’s Facebook page.

The official praised Patriarch Bartholomew’s role in “strengthening the spiritual independence of the Ukrainian people” and stated that the statements of the head of the Phanar are “a word of truth and conscience.”

“Your voice is the voice of the Church, standing beside those who suffer and those who are unjustly wronged,” Sybiha said. He did not specify whom he meant by those “unjustly wronged.”
