Zelensky celebrates iftar with Muslims in a mosque during Ramadan
The President of Ukraine shared an iftar meal with Muslims.
On March 2, 2026, Volodymyr Zelensky marked the beginning of Ramadan together with Muslims at one of Kyiv’s mosques. The President joined the iftar dinner alongside National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, Presidential Commissioner for Crimean Tatar Affairs Mustafa Dzhemilev, as well as imams and Muslim faithful.
During the meeting, Zelensky expressed hope “that the regime in Iran will not prevail, because it is anti-human.” Before the start of the iftar, the President listened to the imam’s prayer.
It was also reported that Viktor Yelensky, head of DESS, attended the event.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in St. Sofia of Kyiv, Zelensky prayed together with Jews, Muslims, Catholics, representatives of the OCU, and the UGCC.
