At the Sioni Cathedral of Tbilisi, daily memorial services for the repose of the soul will be held for 40 days at the grave of Patriarch Ilia II, which is open to pilgrims.

Since March 23, 2026, daily memorial services for the repose of Patriarch Ilia's soul will be held at his grave in the Sioni Cathedral for 40 days, reports the UOJ in Georgia.

With the blessing of the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, the memorial services are held in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Sioni, where the reposed Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church was laid to rest.

The funeral services are conducted by clergy accompanied by a church choir. Simultaneously, the daily cycle of divine services continues in the temple, allowing believers to participate both in memorial services and in the regular liturgical life of the Church.

Free access to the cathedral has been established for pilgrims: the temple is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Believers can come to pray at the Patriarch's tomb and pay tribute to his memory.

Memorial services are conducted at designated times – from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It is expected that during the forty-day period, numerous believers and clergy will come to the tomb to honor the memory of the reposed Patriarch.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that an official delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church participated in the memorial services and burial of Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia in Tbilisi.
