Israeli authorities to ensure Holy Fire delivery to Local Churches
Israeli authorities have begun preparations for the delivery of the Holy Fire, despite security threats in Jerusalem.
On March 27, 2026, Israeli authorities began preparations for delivering the Holy Fire to Local Churches ahead of Easter, despite ongoing security threats in the region, reports Orthodox Times portal.
Preparations for transporting the holy relic are underway with the participation of Israeli government structures, which are taking necessary measures to ensure the safe conduct of this tradition.
As noted by Israeli Ambassador to Romania Lior Ben Dor, the preparation process continues despite existing risks, including those related to attempted attacks on holy sites in Jerusalem. According to him, the Israeli side is doing everything possible to preserve conditions that allow believers to participate in the celebration.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that the delivery of the Holy Fire is an important part of Easter celebrations and a symbol of spiritual unity among Orthodox believers.
The initiative is being implemented with the participation of Local Churches, particularly the Romanian Patriarchate, and aims to preserve the tradition despite external challenges.
