Pat. Bartholomew visits Istanbul synagogue to congratulate Jews on Passover
The visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch to the synagogue emphasized the spirit of mutual respect and interfaith dialogue between Orthodox Christians and Jews.
On April 6, 2026, on Great Monday, Patriarch Bartholomew, together with Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, visited the Neve Shalom synagogue in Istanbul and congratulated the Jews on the Passover Feast.
As reported by the Turkish publication Hyetert, the Patriarch conveyed his best wishes to Chief Rabbi David Sivi and the Jewish community of the city.
"The visit emphasized the spirit of mutual respect and interfaith dialogue," the statement said.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the head of the Presidential Office joined the Passover celebration in the Jewish community of Kyiv.
