Usyk takes part in Paschal night service in Spain
Oleksandr Usyk carried a cross in the Paschal procession before the festal Matins.
Oleksandr Usyk took part in a Paschal service on April 12, 2026. The boxer joined the Paschal procession carrying a cross in his hands. Usyk posted video of the procession on his Telegram channel. The service took place in one of Spain’s cities, though the athlete did not specify which parish he attended.
“Prayer gives peace, inner support, and helps a person see his path more clearly. It reminds us how important it is not to lose ourselves, to remain human, to value our loved ones, and to thank God for everything,” Usyk said.
According to him, the procession is “a special moment when many people walk side by side with one prayer in their hearts. There is great strength in that, because faith unites, gives hope, and reminds us that when we are together, we are stronger.”
Another Ukrainian boxer, Dmytro Mitrofanov, took part in the procession alongside Usyk.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Usyk, the authorities’ persecution of the UOC has divided the people.
