On feast of Antipascha, His Beatitude leads Liturgy at Banchensky Monastery
The Primate of the UOC addressed the faithful of the Bancheny Monastery with Paschal greetings and reminded them that through Christ's Resurrection, the gates of paradise have been opened to humanity once again.
On April 19, 2026, on the 2nd Sunday after Pascha (Antipascha), His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Ascension Monastery of Bancheny.
The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by: Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny, Metropolitan Eusebiy of Shepetivka and Slavuta, Archbishop Benjamin of Khotyn, Archbishop Lavr of Irpin, Archbishop Mark of Borodianka, Bishop Cleopa of Novoselytsia, and Bishop Job of Kitsman.
After the divine service, His Beatitude addressed the faithful with a sermon in which he congratulated everyone on the great feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ.
"Christ is risen from the dead, and by His Resurrection He destroyed hell, defeated the devil, and delivered us from his hand. By His Holy Resurrection, the Lord again opened the doors of paradise to man and restored the lost paradise," said the Primate.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry called upon the faithful to live on earth in such a way that the most holy name of the Risen Christ would be glorified in everyone's life, and asked for the prayerful intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos for all.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that His Beatitude officiated at the all-night vigil at the Chernivtsi cathedral.
