Lotysh: I oppose breaking locks and storming churches with a savage look
The “OCU abbot of the Lavra” said it pains him to see the “completely un-Christian behavior toward the holy place itself” by some representatives of his own structure.
OCU “bishop” and “Lavra abbot” Avraamiy Lotysh, in an interview with Priamyi, criticized the seizure of UOC churches by representatives of his own structure.
According to him, it is “quite painful” for him to observe “certain misunderstandings in parishes on the part of various individuals, completely un-Christian behavior even toward the holy place itself, toward the church of God.”
“Personally, I – and this is my personal opinion – would never use any means to tear off locks and enter the church of God with such a savage look. People forget this. And in our case, there are such ugly things. It is precisely these things that divide people,” Lotysh said.
At the same time, he also criticized representatives of the UOC, “who also have nothing to be praised for – from their side, too, everything possible is being thrown in our direction.”
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Lotysh, the authorities are oppressing the OCU in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, though he hopes for the best.
