Khmelnytskyi bishop consecrates new church in Lomachyntsi
After the service, Metropolitan Victor awarded episcopal certificates to benefactors and active parishioners.
On May 17, 2026, Metropolitan Victor (Kotsaba) consecrated the Church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Lomachyntsi, Vinnykivtsi Deanery, Khmelnytskyi Eparchy, and presided over the Divine Liturgy. This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy on Facebook.
Concelebrating with the bishop were the eparchy secretary, Archpriest Dymytrii Stetsko; the dean of the Vinnykivtsi district, Archpriest Vitalii Hermak; the rector of the church, Archpriest Volodymyr Yarmus; and clergy of the deanery.
At the Little Entrance, with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, the rector was awarded the right to wear the mitre.
During the service, a special prayer was offered for peace and for those affected by the war. At the litany for the departed, prayers were said for the victims of political repression, whose memory the Church especially honors on this day.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Victor congratulated the community on the consecration of the church, while benefactors and active parishioners were presented with episcopal certificates.
As previously reported by the UOJ, a church was сonsecrated after restoration in the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of the UOC, and the first Liturgy was celebrated in the renovated church.
