UOC priests from Kyiv begin humanitarian mission to Eastern Ukraine
The charitable trip is timed to coincide with Trinity Sunday and includes a visit to the Sviatohirsk Lavra and assistance to military personnel.
The UOC clergy began another charitable trip "Mission of Mercy" to the eastern regions of the country on May 25, 2026. The action is timed to coincide with the Feast of the Holy Trinity, reports the Social Department of the UOC on Facebook.
The delegation is headed by Deputy Head of the Social Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archpriest Kostiantyn Dvorovy and Head of the Social Service Department of the Kyiv Eparchy Archpriest Andriy Dvorovy. The volunteer priests also went on the trip.
As part of the mission, the clergy plans to visit the Sviatohirsk Lavra, where refugees and affected residents of Donetsk and Kharkiv regions are located. The monastery will receive fuel for generators, as due to the difficult situation the shrine remains without electricity. They will also bring humanitarian cargo for residents of surrounding villages.
The volunteers intend to meet with servicemen of combat units. Visits to Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and other cities are also planned. The clerics are bringing gifts and necessary assistance for children affected by the war.
As the UOJ reported, humanitarian aid from Bukovyna was brought to the Sviatohirsk Lavra before Pascha.
