Ihor Huz reported on the appeal by deputies to the government and law enforcement agencies demanding the return of the Myltsi Monastery under state control.

MP Ihor Huz stated that he has appealed to the government leadership, law enforcement agencies, and relevant ministries with a demand to "return to the state" the complex of buildings of the Myltsi Monastery of the UOC in Volyn. He reported this on his Facebook page.

According to Huz, this concerns the monastery of the Volodymyr-Volynsky Eparchy of the UOC in the village of Myltsi, where, as the people's deputy claims, representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continue to remain after the expiration of the lease term for state property.

As Huz stated, the lease agreement expired on January 1, 2026, after which, according to him, the premises should have been returned to the state.

"January, February, March, April have passed – and May is already ending, while the responsible state structures have essentially done nothing to enforce the law," the MP complained.

According to him, together with other parliamentarians, he sent appeals to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the head of the SBU, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General, and the Minister of Culture demanding to "take the situation under control."

Huz also demanded the eviction of the UOC monastery from the occupied premises.

"The Moscow church must be evicted from state buildings. And no less important – those local officials who for half a year could not ensure law enforcement must be punished," he declared.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Ihor Huz raised the issue of the Myltsi Monastery during a meeting with the Volyn RMA leadership.
