UOC parish in Korets donates UAH 35,000 for children with cancer
On the Day of the Holy Trinity, a charity fair was held in Korets to support children with cancer.
On May 31, the parish of St. Sergius Church of the UOC in the city of Korets, Rivne Region, raised UAH 35,000 for the treatment of children with cancer during a charity fair, Korets. Voice of the Church reports.
The charitable event took place on the church grounds on the Day of the Holy Trinity. Parishioners helped organize the fair, preparing various handmade items and treats, while the funds raised were designated for children in need of medical treatment.
According to the report, thanks to the efforts and compassion of the faithful, the parish was able to raise UAH 35,000. The community stressed that this aid was another expression of Christian mercy and care for one’s neighbor.
The rector of St. Sergius Church, Fr. Yaroslav Kholodnytskyi, noted that holding charity fairs on the Feast of the Holy Trinity has already become a cherished parish tradition. Such initiatives, he said, remind believers of the Church’s vital mission – to perform works of mercy and help those in need.
This is not the parish’s first such effort. A previous charity fair was held on February 15, when the community raised and donated UAH 21,500 for children’s treatment.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC had provided aid to children of the Yampil special school.
